LDW - In the summer of 2013 a group of Portland, Oregon musicians got together around the love of Talking Heads music. Especially that of the epic 1984 concert film, Stop Making Sense, which they consider to be the most brilliant concert film of all time. They began to perform with a 7-piece lineup that was inspired by that particular movie and time period. “There was so much funkiness, movement, and excitement to the music in that movie and we just knew it would get people excited and feel fresh” says Lawrence Orleck, co-founder and singer in the band.
Audiences keep coming back to see LDW. Not only for their exuberant interpretations of the legendary Talking Heads, but also for their original music, improvisation, choreography and the random experiences they deliver at every one of their shows.

The Melvins formed in Aberdeen/Montesano, WA in 1983 the founding members were Buzz, Mike Dillard (drums), and ex-Mudhoney bassist Matt Lukin. Buzz, Mike, and Matt all went to high school in Montesano. The name Melvins came from a grocery clerk at the Thriftway in Montesano where King Buzzo served as clerk and vandal. Melvin was the most hated fellow employee and they felt it to be an appropriately ridiculous name.
When Mike couldn't cut it, as rumor has it because the songs were getting too mathematically complex, Dale was recruited out of the Iron Maiden cover band he played in at the age of 15. Matt was replaced by Lori Black (Lorax) (Shirley Temple's daughter) when they left Aberdeen for San Francisco.
The Melvins have had quite a few bass player changes during their tenure. Check out the Melvins Bassist Morgue to learn more. The Melvins live in Hollywood, CA right now.
The Melvins Discography is an exhaustive resource of their many releases. They were on a major label Atlantic Records for three albums, although most would agree they're not the type of band that would appeal to a major label. They are often quoted as knowing this while they were on the label and just took advantage of the drunken blitz the record companies were on in signing any band connected to a supposed Seattle "grunge" sound. Melvins have also released music on Ipecac Recordings, Boner Records, Alchemy Records, Amphetamine Reptile Records, Alternative Tentacles Records, and numerous others in the manner of 7"s and whatnot.
Buzz has a side project called Fantômas with Mike Patton (Faith No More/Mr. Bungle) who is also owner of Ipecac Recordings the label the melvins are currently releasing material through. He also played guitar in the hardcore/grind "supergroup" Venomous Concept, featuring members/former members of Napalm Death and Brutal Truth (also released through Ipecac).
Dale filled in for Nirvana when they were between drummers, he appears on Incesticide and Bleach as a result of those sessions. Dale has two major side projects one called Altamont in which he sings and plays guitar. The other he drums in and is known as PORN (The Men Of) or just PORN.
Melvins have toured with KISS, White Zombie, NIN, L7, Primus, Tool, and Rush, among others and were also on the Ozzfest tour in 98. They toured with a second guitarist at one point David Scott Stone (a great noisician). Former bassist Kevin Rutmanis (1998 - early 2005) used to be in the band Cows, he was also in another Mike Patton project along with Duane Denison of the Jesus Lizard called Tomahawk. If you ever get the chance to see them live be sure to give them gifts, they prefer Cracker Barrel gift certificates.

Hirie–the frontwoman of the exhilarating reggae band HIRIE–grew up a global citizen. Her father worked for the United Nations and she was born in the Philippines, spent years in Italy, before her family settled in Hawaii, which became her spiritual home.
Wandering Soul’s lush construct reflects this depth. The songs feature chord sequences that have a sophisticated, tension and release accessibility. The musicianship is high-level restraint, showcasing that point of mature virtuosity where laying back implies instrumental prowess. The album’s trippy production—the bulk of it courtesy of Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper, Sia)—replete with adventurous textured passages, heady dub segues, and subtle psychedelic flourishes, make it a rare headphone experience for a pop-oriented record.
San Diego’s seven-piece band HIRIE is ready to offer a global spiritual uplift. Melding the balmy island touches of its singer’s beloved home—as symbolized by its moniker’s first letter, an “H” for “Hawaii,” with that feeling of irie, the award-winning group offers a soundtrack of hope. Now, with its masterful most recent album, Wandering Soul, brimming with invigorating female-fronted shamanistic reggae an oasis of positivity is just an album away.
The album opens with the smoldering and ambitious title track—a sonic journey through heartfelt longing, and heady dub passages. The militant “Renegade” features Nahko Bear of Nahko and Medicine For The People and boasts stately horns, simmering grooves, and call-to-arms individuality against the massification of culture. The personal “Melody of a Broken Heart” and “You Won’t Be Alone” shine a light on personal domestic struggles. “I wrote ‘You Won’t Be Alone’ for my daughter with the hopes that she understands my life when she hears me on the radio. I hope she understands how much I love her and how I can be a role model by showing her she can be anything she wants,” Hirie confides. The sleek futuristic electronic textures of “Boom Fire” represents HIRIE’s party vibe and exudes vivaciousness of in-the-moment HIRIE living.
Hirie is currently working on her third full-length album due out in 2018.
Reflecting on the power of HIRIE, Hirie shares this story: “I met a fan who was suffering from of six tumors. He shared with me ‘Your music is the reason I get out of bed, you’re my medicine.’ That drives me to push this movement forward to share conscious music. I feel a responsibility and a duty to share a positive message.”

Night Beats - Call it soul, call it rock’n’roll, call it what you like. For anyone who has had their ears open, those elements have always been part of the DNA of Night Beats, but here Blackwell has recalibrated them, slowed them down just enough and allowed them the space to breathe and exist as something new. It’s the same book, just a different chapter.

River City Roots - Reggae/Roots/Rock band formed in Spokane Wa. We are all about uplifting community, giving you something to dance to, and spreading good vibes.
Naughty Pine - Naughty Pine seeds were first planted in the throes of a jam night at the Emerald of Siam in Richland, WA. Singer-songwriter Barefoot Randy's blend of roots and folk combined with Fishbowl alum Weezy Pipes' dubby basslines began to fill the reggae void in the TriCities. After months of gigging together as an acoustic duo, veteran percussionist and instructor Jo-Rilla joined to form the core trio with appearances from friends of the band contributing horns, hand drums, and more.
The Other Favorites is the long time duo project of Carson McKee and Josh Turner. Perhaps best known for their performances on YouTube, which have garnered millions of views. The Other Favorites are now based out of Brooklyn, NY. Together, Turner and McKee bring their shared influences of folk, bluegrass and classic rock into a modern framework; one distinguished by incisive songwriting, virtuosic guitar work and tight two-part harmony.
Reina del Cid is a singer songwriter and leader of the eponymous folk rock band based in Minnesota. Her song-a-week video series, Sunday Mornings with Reina del Cid, has amassed 24 million views on YouTube and collected a diverse following made up of everyone from jamheads to college students to white-haired intelligentsia. In 2011 she began collaborating with Toni Lindgren, who is the lead guitarist on all three of Del Cid’s albums, as well as a frequent and much beloved guest on the Sunday Morning videos. The two have adapted their sometimes hard-hitting rock ballads and catchy pop riffs into a special acoustic duo set which they will tour in Europe and the United States this year.

Since their inception in 2002, As Cities Burn have garnered tremendous respect for their progressive take on the post-hardcore genre. Upon the release of their 2005 full-length debut, Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest, fans and critics alike fell in love with the balanced dynamic of TJ Bonnette’s visceral screams and the clean vocals of his brother, Cody, who also serves as the primary songwriter in the band. In 2006, TJ’s new marriage saw him leave As Cities Burn for a new life in Mississippi. The remaining members forged ahead, undergoing several lineup and stylistic changes over the next three years and releasing two more acclaimed full lengths - Come Now Sleep (2007) and Hell or High Water (2009) - before disbanding in 2009.
This, however, is not where their story ends.
In the time since, As Cities Burn would occasionally play one-off shows, but no plans for a proper reunion were discussed until a few years ago when TJ moved to Nashville where his brother and the rest of the band were living. Casual jam sessions commenced and, before long, a concrete plan fo a new record began to take shape. Two years later, As Cities Burn are ready to unveil Scream Through The Walls - their first album in ten years and the first with the Bonnette brothers collaborating since the band’s seminal debut.
Seattle’s own THE ACCÜSED A.D. carved their way into the underground music scene by becoming one of the cornerstones of crossover music that melted faces in the 80s across the globe––A punk/metal fusion that planted its ever-growing seed in modern heavyweights such as MUNICIPAL WASTE, LAMB OF GOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEAD CROSS, and many more!

Swingin' Utters@ have been kicking around the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years now. They’ve met their wives and their best friends on these streets; they’ve grown and aged right here in the Bay Area. This has ignited the very essence of what goes into their value system and more importantly their music, because it is a reflection of those experiences. For example, the band took a break to raise their families, right at the height of their popularity! Did it faze them? Not really. That’s the thing with these guys. It is family first, with music always germinating within those life choices. During the Utters’ semi-hiatus, they all continued playing music in bands like Druglords of the Avenues, the Re-volts and Filthy Thieving Bastards. Their life experiences influence what goes into their records. A case in point is their debut: 1995’s The Streets of San Francisco; their first full length and an essential “streetpunk” masterpiece. Fat Mike took notice of their grit and honesty, and signed them to Fat Wreck Chords. From there they put out a ton of great records, including A Juvenile Product of the Working Class, Five Lessons Learned, Brazen Head, Swingin’ Utters and Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass, and Bones. For 10 years the Utters toured relentlessly with the likes of Rancid, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys and everyone in between. Which brings us back to celebrating their 25th anniversary, the band fully recharged with their second album in three years and no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Gallows Bound - Formed in 2012 in Winchester VA, GALLOWS BOUND consists of a group of six childhood friends who all grew up together in their local punk scene. When they weren’t thrashing in their former punk and metal bands, they would play acoustic instruments at house parties, bonfires, and basements. Although deeply rooted in the traditional bluegrass of their home in Virginia, GALLOWS BOUND has a strong affection for their upbringing in punk rock and stitches their influences together in a blazing fury of Appalachian Punk Bluegrass. The band thumbs their nose at tradition in every sense which allows them to weave through many different scenes. Pushing the boundaries in all genres, their diverse range has landed GALLOWS BOUND on varying stages from iconic country landmark Gruene Hall in Texas to NYC’s legendary punk house C-Squat.
Wasted Breath -
Wasted Breath has perfected their unique combo of witty sing- alongs, brash guitar leads, show-off drum fills, & "fuck you" attitude. This band will kick your teeth in, make you shake your ass, & keep you smiling from the very first downbeat. A treat for Rock & Rollers of all ages & musical tastes.

The Smokes: "The garage-rock duo revels in authentic, gritty rock 'n' roll, and celebrates the imperfections of the music they play and that which inspires them — everything from stomping electric blues and propulsive punk to "hopeful garage-soul," gospel and hip-hop.” Inlander Weekly

Revolutionary music may seem hard to come by in these days and times. Long gone is the era of artists like Bob Marley, The Clash, Stevie Wonder and Patti Smith getting airplay and bringing their messages to the masses. But that doesn’t mean that the revolution isn’t still brewing in the hearts and minds of many people around the globe.
Meet Mike Love. One of reggae music’s rising stars. Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii to a musical family that spans generations, Mike Love brings a multitude of influences to the table, all tied together by the common goal of making the world a better place.
Which is no mean feat. On his debut album, “The Change I’m Seeking”, Love harkens the legends of roots reggae in both his lyrics and his sound, but never relies on any one genre to hold him down. Coming from a wealth of influences – he started out playing classical piano as a teenager and later would perform in high school bands that were more akin to the grunge sounds of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam – Mike Love fuses the simple rhythms of classic reggae with the complex changes of the classical and rock music he was first trained on to come up with a style wholly unique to him. Mike is currently wrapping up his highly anticipated second album, titled “Love Will Find A Way”, due out September 2015.
But it’s his message, his passion, the wisdom behind his words that truly resonate with his fans. “It’s always been about the depth,” Mike Love explains, “I’ve never been into music that was shallow. I’m still learning. I’m still learning about where I’m going and where I want to be. All the music is a learning tool to me too. I just make myself open to it. All the messages that come through the music, it’s not just coming through me and my wisdom, because I don’t think I’m that wise of a person. I don’t think I’m some wise elder or anything like that. I just make myself open to the music and it just comes through. To me it’s just as much of a teaching for me as it is for anyone who is listening to it and is open to it.”
His songs take you on a journey, one of healing and inspiration. One designed to help you on your path to knowledge, wisdom and understanding. On “Permanent Holiday” he takes you on a lyrical quest for freedom, both his and yours. He laments the ills of the world but also discusses solutions and ideas to change them.
The story of INDUBIOUS is not for the faint of heart. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Indubious was forged in the fires of pain and destruction. Evton and Skip, brothers and bandmates born with Cystic Fibrosis and convinced by doctors of their impending death from an early age, have emerged as a powerful force for change and the future of conscious music. Their only choice has always been mind over matter, and time has proven that their unbending positive outlook, combined with an inspiring message of love and hope, has not only helped them overcome personal hardship, but catapulted their music onto the world stage with an unstoppable momentum.
Currently based in Oregon, Indubious has released four albums over the past few years, including Wake The Lion which was produced by EDM/Dub/Reggae pioneer Gaudi. Their new album From Zero, which dropped on 7-1-17, debuted at #6 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and #8 on iTunes Reggae Chart, features legendary guest artists including Dancehall icon Sizzla, Vaughn Benjamin (formally of Midnite and Akae Beka), and Reggae/R&B singer Zahira Soul. From Zero is a mix of conscious Dancehall and Roots Reggae with top level production. All songs were written, produced, and engineered by Indubious, and released on their own label Righteous Sound Productions.
Jon Wayne and the Pain The four-piece Twin-Cities, Minnesota rockers, Jon Wayne and The Pain (aka JWP) are best known for innovating acoustic-electronic dub, heightened with conscious lyrics and catchy riddims. The quartet has been mesmerizing fans for a decade, with their signature JWP cosmic-blend of electronic beats, fused with uplifting roots-driven beats and a hearty dash of conscious lyricism.
The band has carved a sizable niche for itself in the electronic and reggae-rock genres by their coast-to-coast road-warrior tours, playing more than one hundred and thirty shows per year and have blazed two sold-out shows at the Cabooze, filled with 1,000 attendees and recently had more than 800 at the famed First Avenue in Minneapolis for their CD Release Party. The band has performed on some of the nations most renowned music and art festivals, as Electric Forest, Summer Camp, Cali Roots, Shangri-la and Wakarusa to name a few.
JWP incorporates musical ingredients, filled with vibrant acoustic-electronic riffs, coupled with a delicate splash of roots-reggae and socially conscious lyricism. Over the years, the band has developed a sort of “Deadhead” Midwest following, as a proven mainstay in the ever-evolving music and festival scene.

Armed with old bastardized mid-century guitars, hand-me-down fiddles and banjos, home-made contraptions with just enough tension on a string to be considered an instrument and any random percussive item he can get his hands or feet on, Lincoln Durham is a Southern-Gothic Psycho-Blues Revival-Punk One-Man-Band with a heavy amped edge, preaching the gospel of some new kind of depraved music.
