Motel Radio is a rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Formed in 2014, the band has approached songwriting with a reverence for past influences coupled with an enthusiasm for contemporary artists. As a result, Motel Radio has developed a sound that is rooted in Americana, yet constantly evolving.
Texas natives Ian Wellman and Winston Triolo began their songwriting collaboration while attending college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where they would meet fellow musicians Eric Lloyd (drums) and Andrew Pancamo (bass). The band cut its teeth in the college bar circuit, all the while continuing to be heavily influenced by independent songwriters in the area.
In 2015, the band moved to New Orleans and immersed itself in the vibrant music scene. Motel Radio recorded its debut EP, Days and Nights, at Listen Up! Studios with local musician and producer, Mike Seaman. Building on a local following after the release of Days and Nights, the band was added to the Simple Play Presents artist management roster in Fall 2015. Cascade Crescendo and Trego are teaming up for the ultimate Silver Cloud Campout Pre-Party at The Big Dipper in Spokane, WA! Enter for your chance to win festival passes to this amazing festival at the show!
"For seven years, Folkinception has been one of Spokane’s most impressive musical voices. The band’s Kickstarter-funded 2014 album Tower Mountain skillfully walks a tricky line between well-crafted and well-performed Americana music and the kind of ragged “everybody now!” soulful folk-rock that people dig these days. Tight tunes that hang together while also oozing authenticity are harder to make than it sounds." - The Pacific NW Inlander
Folkinception's musical roots rise from the great American folk tradition and extend far into the realm of Americana and Rock n Roll. The band has been praised for their ability to “build a song from a whisper to a roar”. The music is firmly rooted in a song writing process that pays homage to life's triumphs, while confronting adversity with a defiant sense of optimism. Their sound, developed over the past six years, conveys a musical identity unique to their Northwest origins. Folkinception is putting their stamp an a new genre of music coming out of the Pacific Northwest today... Upper Left Americana.
Cello, violin, harmonica and vocal harmonies layer together to provide a uniquely original timbre; while electric guitar and Hammond organ vary between nuanced textures and soaring climactic heights. Drums, bass, acoustic guitar and piano round out the instrumentation and act as the driving, rhythmic force behind the songs. Since the band’s inception in 2011 Folkinception has evolved into a regional fan favorite; supporting many of the great up and coming, independent bands touring the Northwest today. Folkinception has shared the stage with Fruition, Hot Buttered Rum, The Lil' Smokies, Dead Winter Carpenters, Polecat, Hillstomp, Cornmeal and many more. The band is currently working with Producer Chris White of Comrade Studios (LA/Seattle/Spokane) on their second, full length album, to be released mid-2017.
Cascade Crescendo, from Portland, Oregon has been crafting their own brand of bluegrass since 2013. Pulling from their vast range of collective influences, they play original, high-energy bluegrass, jamgrass, and Americana music with captivating lead vocals by Hunter White, blazing fast mandolin licks by Aden Beck, and creative, thumping bass lines by Taylor Skiles. Duluth, MN banjo player, Harrison Olk, joined the band in late 2015,bringing with him solid Scruggs-style banjo and high lonesome harmony vocals.
Cascade Crescendo recorded their first studio album in Spring 2016 at The Hallowed Halls in Portland, OR. The album features fiddle player, Allie Kral (Yonder Mountain String Band) on five tracks and a guest appearance by drummer Nick Werth (Yak Attack). Cascade Crescendo is gaining steam, quickly winning over fans across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They performed at the 2016 and 2017 Northwest String Summit and regularly team up with national touring bands including Hot Buttered Rum, Reckless Kelly, Henhouse Prowlers, Trout Steak Revival, Front Country, Vince Herman, Danny Barnes, and more at venues including the Crystal Ballroom, Star Theater, and Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, and Seattle's Nectar Lounge.
They completed two national tours in 2017 including travels across 15 states such as Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana. They've become crowd favorites across the country and have aspirations to continue to tour the far reaches of the nation.
"Featuring Hunter White on guitar, Taylor Skiles on bass, Harrison Olk on banjo, and Aden Beck on mandolin, Cascade Crescendo has a classic Americana sound and some of the sweetest vocal harmonies in the Pacific Northwest. The band stands out for their high levels of energy and musicianship, as well as their timeless songwriting" - James Sissler // MusicMarauders (2017)
"...if there were a bluegrass band sandwich they [Cascade Crescendo] would be the jam" - Fort George Brewery (2017)
Cascade Crescendo has... "gained a loyal following with their tightly crafted bluegrass that embraces tradition alongside more progressive, jam-oriented styles." - Glide Magazine
"Folky singer-songwriter songs are blended with complex harmonies, traditional bluegrass and faster, alternative rock beats. What emerges is a cross between funk, jamgrass, Americana and bluegrass—or newgrass, as they call it—a sound you can't help but dance to. " - Source Weekly (Bend, OR)
B Radicals - Existential experimental rock-funk, cultivated in the Northwest. Eclectic compositions please the musical palette. Inspire your being on a polyrhythmic trip through ethereal realms.
Dodgy Mountain Men - Dodgy Mountain Men sling a home-brewed Montana stompgrass that goes down smooth but packs a bite, mixing the rhythms of bluegrass, the soul of the blues and the energy of rock 'n' roll with a plethora of other musical traditions to create a unique electro-acoustic experience.

The Native Howls music has evolved into their own unique blend of rock, folk, bluegrass, alternative, and experimental genres, one of which is being coined as "Thrash Grass." Throw in some keyboards, harmonica, banjo, some djembe, and you get a glimpse of the musical complexity that defines their sound. Their lyrics embody a folk-like storytelling style; the music shines through with a rustic and clean sound. Their sophomore effort "Inukshuk" was released in 2015. They are currently working on a new E.P. as well.
Thunderhound is an American Rock and Roll band from the Pacific Northwest. Their music is characterized by driving guitar riffs, soaring guitar solos and a chorus of backing vocals to accent the front mans hearty, but lyrically hyper-literate prose. THUNDERHOUND is known for high-energy stage shows with a contagiously positive vibe. It is next to impossible not to have a good time at a THUNDERHOUND show. THUNDERHOUND is also known for their humorous, episodic videos that they release regularly. The band films, develops and produces all of their videos, promos and episodes on their own.

Spokane’s own The South Hill has quickly gained a buzz since forming two years ago and releasing their debut album last summer. After living all over the country and being a part of a number of musical projects, The South Hill's five members eventually landed in Spokane, WA, where the band set down roots and started making indie rock in 2015. Smooth and captivating vocals and harmonies layered on melodic guitar forms the basis of their sound, rounded out by drums, cello, bass, and keys. The story-telling poetry of their lyrics is melded with a variety of instrumental influences, from blues to folk.
Chris Molitor is a recent transplant from LA, where he built up quite a following as a folk artist. He recently won The Bartlett Award for Best Singer-Songwriter and has quickly made a name for himself around Spokane. Honest lyrics and upbeat folk style stems from the simplicity of a Midwestern upbringing and a love for the adventurous open road. Chris Molitor is a story teller - using melody and rhyme to bring the listener into beautiful moments where hopes and fears collide.
The Lunar Year is joining the lineup as part of their west coast tour. An indie folk band based out of Philadelphia, PA, the group is led by front woman and writer Katie Burke. Their music swirls with emotion, filled with ethereal, veracious and often celestial sounds, sustained by Burke’s powerful and captivating vocals.

American singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn is a shape-shifter who can’t sit still. Since 2010 she’s worked under the moniker The Mynabirds, releasing three critically acclaimed and stylistically different albums on Saddle Creek: What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood (2010) and GENERALS (2012), both produced by Richard Swift, and Lovers Know (2015). She has also toured as a member of the Postal Service (2013) and Bright Eyes (2011), helped found Omaha Girls Rock (a non-profit helping young girls find their voices), and in 2013 gave a TED talk based on her “New Revolutionists” portrait project, exploring what it means to be a revolutionary woman in this day and age. Before the Mynabirds, Laura was a member of DC indie band Georgie James with Q And Not U’s John Davis, and also put out two self-produced solo albums on the label she founded herself, Laboratory Records.
The Mynabirds’ new album, BE HERE NOW, is a collection of 9 songs written and recorded in just 2 weeks in January 2017 following the Inauguration and the Women’s March. Singer Laura Burhenn worked with producer Patrick Damphier in his Nashville studio (which he was being evicted from to make way for luxury condos) to document the news and peoples’ intense emotional responses to it all in real time. No stranger to politics in her songwriting, Laura aimed to speak from the voice of the collective consciousness in a work of “Emotional Journalism,” singing the heartbreak, anger, exhaustion and resolute hope she witnessed during the Muslim travel ban, the final stand at Standing Rock, and every other news story that rattled America in that period. The album vacillates in style and feel to reflect a frayed nation, featuring a Burundian refugee choir on one song, and a cacophony of dissonant saxophones in a new national anthem on another. It is the last recording made in that space.
BE HERE NOW is being released very quickly as 3 digital EPs over 3 months to emphasize the immediacy of the songs. It will culminate in an official full album release on Saddle Creek in the summer of 2017.
The coming together of Rebecca Marie Miller & Joy Pearson as Portland, Oregon folk outfit, Lenore., is serendipitous, to say the least.
After individually hitting rock bottom — Pearson following a divorce and Miller after a period of destitution in LA —
the pair separately turned to songwriting in the search for a still point in their turning worlds.
After years of lending their abilities to other projects, including Saddle Creek’s The Mynabirds & Portland’s own High Water Jazz Band,
they finally found themselves spinning on the same axis when a chance meeting through a mutual friend, Pokey LaFarge, sparked
an immediate connection. A drunken night ensued & before they’d even scoped each other’s material, they had committed.
Now, two years since that fateful evening & Lenore. can boast having performed at legendary PNW venues including Mississippi Studios, Aladdin Theater & Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, as well as the Sunset Tavern, Triple Door & Tractor Tavern in Seattle.
They’ve opened for Eric Bachmann, Laura Gibson, Esme Patterson, Blitzen Trapper & ex-collaborators The Mynabirds & have
shared the stage with Peter Buck (R.E.M.), as well as Chris Funk & Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists).
Since forming Lenore., Miller & Pearson have gained full-time collaborators in seasoned Portland musicians
Edward Cameron (classical guitar) & Jessie Dettwiler (cello), who have contributed significantly to the evolution of
Lenore.’s sound — a dreamy melancholic blend of harmony-driven folk with an ever present sense of hope.
More recently, Lenore. began playing with a rhythm section that features a rotating cast of bassists & drummers.
Lenore. released their debut self-titled album produced by John Askew on 9/15/2017, and will embark on their first tour this October.
